The second Viper game we tackled has two different parts: one ("Rise") starring a VG Yuka ripoff forced to defend herself and her waitress collegues against lustful subterranean monsters, and another one ("Imagine") starring a selfish and lazy idiot trying to have his way with three aspiring show-business girls.
"Rise" is pretty interesting game-wise (if you don't care too much about the monster rapes), with RPG battles, multiple endings, and even the possibility to reach the good ending without a single sex scene. "Imagine" is a pretty standard Bishoujo game, with a few branching patchs. Both have partial voice acting, gorgeous animations and a nice soundtrack (with MIDI option).
This game (well, the Windows port) actually had an European multi-language release courtesy of the Hobibox company. The game was first translated in Italian, then this version served as a basis for the other versions. The problem is the English one was handled by a non-native speaker with a pretty poor grasp on the language, so it was really painful to read (even if it was quite faithful to the Japanese original script, all things considered). I proceeded in doing a lot of rewrites to make it flow better (and also get rid of a few memory overflow errors). Thankfully this game was short, and handled opcodes way better than DPS, which was my other "rewritten script port" job.
We used the latest executable revision to enable in-game volume control, in a similar fashion than CTR.
